Weekend activities

This past weekend there were horse shows in many different places.

The recognized dressage show at the Rose Palace drew Deb/Apollo and Grace/Strider to compete. Deb did a second level test and a third level test and felt pretty good about it all. This is bumping up a level for her so as it gets harder, she's getting it done. Grace and Strider competed in training level for their first recognized show and came home with 2nd and 3rd place ribbons.

Matthew took Aston and Lauren/Wiley to MeadowCreek for a schooling horse trials there. Aston did something after his dressage test to make himself sore so they had to withdraw from the rest of the competition. Lauren and Wiley did pretty good on their first time out at Beginner novice - except Lauren forgot the dressage test (oops, extra errors) and jumped the wrong bank on cross country! Oops, that one eliminated her. Good to know they can do the harder bank tho!

Fall shows start

Liberty Hill hosted the first of the fall shows we attended. Still feels like summer with those hot temperatures.

The show was small so we took the two "newbies" to school and see how they'd do in that atmosphere. Daphne was quiet and calm and Lauren did a great job of schooling her and riding her all over the place so she could see it all. Ran into no problems at all.

Watson also was quiet and calm and SaraBeth got on to school him everywhere. This one we thought we'd have to lunge first, but no... he just went to work! On to a "real" show next time.

Pam competed Nacho in 2 Second Level tests. Did an outstanding job of it and it just keeps getting better and better. Great scores and blue ribbons for them.
