Clinics

Two clinics scheduled here at Kinswood. May 30th thru June 1st Greta Peterson comes back to teach. This clinic is probably full by now, but talk to Karen about scheduling. Of course auditors are welcome!
Richard Howard returns June 28 and 29 for a dressage clinic. There's a sign up sheet in the clubhouse for those wishing to ride with Richard.

Sadie

Sadie left for the equine hospital Friday with colic symptoms that wouldn't abate. Finally heard Saturday evening that she pulled thru. Thanks all for the prayers and thoughts for Kim and Sadie - it appears that it's helped!

Fun!

Sarah and her Archie did a reenactment of the running of Paul Revere. In costume and everything! Quite amazing. Archie was a true gentleman and Sarah - - - oops --- Paul Revere was able to run thru the park announcing "The British are coming!"

Liberty Hill

Liberty Hill held their last dressage schooling show Sunday. And Diana took Juliet on her debut. She rode her well to win both Intro B and Training Level test one with scores 60%+. Juliet proved to be quite the sensible lady at the show, and was nothing short of wonderful all day.

Anna rode Kissy in both Intro classes and Training level test one.

Brittany took on alot of riding when she rode Dominic to two wins in the Intro Classes and then rode Charlie in two training level classes. Went better this time with Charlie, scores improved!
Hanna brought her Sandy and had a couple of great rides. A second in the Intro B and a first in Training level test one.
Danielle brought her horse Ty out for a look-see at a show and to ride and school him around.
Susan also brought out Flirt for this experience and Lisa brought out her Tango for the same thing. All the horses were well behaved. Show time next guys!
Good show for us!

Friday update

A bit more rain again overnight has left the arenas with water on them again. So no riding in the arenas this morning. Horses in the big field and the mares did get out today. Sun is out so am expecting it to dry at least a bit by this evening.

Help!

Liberty Hill Farm called today and they need some help with the show. Anyone out there willling to be a scribe?? They need several people. This is a good opportunity to learn the scribing thing for those of you that are interested. Schooling shows are very forgiving and a great chance to learn what goes on behind the judges box. Call over at Liberty Hill for info, or inform Diane and she'll set ya up.

Summer help

When school lets out, we will be looking for someone new to do morning turn outs Monday thru Friday. This job begins at 9:30 and will take around 1 1/2 to 2 hours to do. Pretty good part time job for someone who is willing to walk horses around. Contact Diane if you are interested.

Heidi's new baby

Heidi's mare - Cajun's mom! - had her baby last week. She was bred to a Friesian stallion, so there's a big boned black colt here now.
This baby needs a name, anyone with any ideas??

Manes pulled?

Diana Morgan will be coming out to pull manes soon! If you're interested it's $15.00 per mane-call her at (830) 388 0123. OR leave an envelope in the clubhouse with Diana's name on it- and your horse's name along with a check.

Manes pulled?

Rain, kind of...

Some rain Sunday night, drizzle Monday morning and a forecast that says rain showers and maybe even thunderstorms this afternoon - - - the horses got left in Monday with lots of hay. The dressage arena isn't bad this morning to ride in, but if we get alot of rain, even that won't be useable.

New Barn Dog

Think we've found ourselves a new barn dog. She's about 6 months old, half golden retriever and half Australian Shepard. She shows no desire to chase the chickens and gives the barn cats a wide berth. She really loves to cuddle with anyone. And she stays out of the way of the horses!
Sally says her eyes look like Liz Taylors' - - - so we've named her Lizzie.
Welcome Lizzie, she accepts all treats and all lovin'!

Greta Clinic

Hi Everyone,
Greta will be back at Kinswood May 30 - June 1. If you are interested in taking a clinic, please let me know ASAP. I've been thinking it might be fun for those who want to work on cross country or stadium jumping to go to Indian Creek one morning if I can arrange it with the staff there. Let me know if you're interested in doing that. If we have several who are interested, hopefully we can "trailer pool" to help out those who don't have a trailer. Keep in mind you will also have to pay the Indian Creek schooling fee (I'm not sure how much that is--I can contact them to see if they would give us a group rate if enough people are interested). The cost this time is:
$65 for 1 private
$120 for 2 privates
$165 for 3 privates
$50 for 1 semi-private
$90 for 2 semi-privates
$40 per person per lesson for group of 3 or 4 (maximum of 4)
