Christmas!

Once again the barn party was a blast. We lucked out and had nice weather. Lots of people came, from the current people at the barn to the "oldies' who used to live at the barn too! It was fun to catch up on friends we hadn't seen in some time.
The Barn Elves helped out in style!

The Grinch did NOT steal Christmas after all, but helped with the festivies immensely.
Even Aria joined in!

Thanks everyone for a great year. Let's hope it goes so well next year.

December Pine Hill

This year's December Pine Hill outing turned out to be very UNwinter-like. Warm temperatures and dry grounds made it actually pretty pleasant. Kinswood had 10 horse and rider teams compete!
A ride Saturday to stretch out the horses and let them see the world was good for all. After the long trip there, the horses were well behaved and seemed to enjoy the place. Riders spent a good deal of time walking cross country courses and stadium courses and getting ready to show Sunday.
Kendall rode Wally to a nice dressage test! And a terrific stadium left her in a good place. Cross country went well too, but she was penalized for a step back at the water, so fell to 4th place. But all done, she rode excellent rides.Well done!
Katie took Savvy and had a blast! Dressage not her strong suit, she managed to get thru it and remember the test! Then came the fun parts, and the jumping phases went really well! They ended up in 3rd place.
Taylor had problems in the dressage canter parts, so not so great a score there. But in the jumping parts Indee found his confidence! He loves the cross country and was playing a bit thru the course! They ended up in 5th place.

The rest of the field: No pictures in yet..
Kate took Louie on her first outing with him. She hasn't had him long enough to really know him yet, but this show helped alot! Nice dressage test. They pulled a couple of rails in stadium. Went clean cross country but had time penalties - ended up in 4th place tho, not so bad!
SaraBeth took Buddy to Novice level too. This is a big step for both. Dressage was terrific. Stadium jumping was great but Buddy tired on cross country and SaraBeth retired him from the course.
Rosa rode Apollo - a new ride for her. They did well on the dressage test, clean on stadium. One run out on cross country dropped her standing, but she still came home with 6th place.
Chantelle and Haudi tried eventing for the first time and had a ball. Dressage was scary for Chantelle, she's never done it, but she remembered the test and got her way thru it. No problems on the jumping phases and ended up in 6th place.
Grace piloted Strider to a fantastic dressage test! Pulled a rail on stadium, but jumped the cross country clean. Grace did a wonderful job of keeping Strider in hand as he got VERY strong for the cross country. She came home with a second place ribbon.
Sydney rode Demi at Prelim. Had a few problems in dressage and stadium, but were champs! on cross country. They came home with a blue ribbon!
Matthew rode Aston at Novice level. Had some difficulty in the dressage but jumped both phases clean for a 5th place ribbon.

Everyone had a good time and will be ready to go next time again!
