Party Pic's

Making the bran mash for the horses can be a very fulfilling endeavor. Brittany was REALLY into it.

And Juliet REALLY enjoyed it too! She's begging for more.

Christmas Party

Our Kinswood Christmas party was Sunday - and it was a fun time for everyone. The gifts were a hit! Some very clever, some hand made, enjoyed by all. And the food, yum, yum. People bring such great stuff! The kids (and adults!) had fun mixing the wheelbarrow full of bran mash with cut up carrots and apples and the horses were lip-smacking happy about it too! Fun day.

Greta Clinic

Greta Peterson came this past weekend for a long weekend of lessons. Thank Karen for organizing it all! And Greta was a saint to teach during the drizzle of Friday, the cold blasting wind of Saturday and then all day Sunday too. Think everyone enjoyed the rides!

Crummy weather

Wednesday dawns rainy and cold. Horses are staying in today and there will be no lessons.

Monday weird weather

Monday brings us a dramatically different sort of day than Sunday was. Little worried about the cold/wet factor with the horses that have been body clipped. Leaving those that have been clipped in the barn today - as I think they would be really chilled to the bone should it rain even a little. With temperatures in the low 40's right now and a mist, just don't think they have enough hair cover to be out in it. So, plan on those horses staying in today.

Weekend shows

This past weekend there were 2 shows going on. Liberty Hill was attended by Karen with her Dominic and Brittany with Sirrak. Karen entered 2 First Level tests and earned scores over 70%!! And no bucking! She's more than pleased. Brittany did a couple Training level tests and scored in the high 60%'s. Really excellent. Both ladies came home with a fist full of blue ribbons.
Hannah and Hanna made the trek to Pine Hill. Hannah and Pistol rode in the Beginner Novice division, scored a respectable 41 points in the dressage phase. They went thru the stadium course like pros, it was beautiful. And their cross country was penalty free, so they ended on their dressage score in 3rd place. Hanna took Sunset for her first go at a horse trial. Hanna had a blast - mom was all nerves! Another respectable score in the dressage of 41 put her in 4th place, and she jumped the stadium clean. Hanna had some trouble at the brush in the cross country course, but overcame it and finished the cross country with a big grin! She had a blast.
