Ft. Sam show

A whole gang of horses and riders attended the Ft. Sam schooling show this past weekend. It was a day of firsts for Kinswood riders! Karen and Dominic showed at First Level for the first time, and earned a blue ribbon. Cassie and Sunset earned their first blue in a jumper class. Deb and Apollo earned blues at second level. Courtney did her first show, first dressage class with Dude and won! Brittany and Sirrak got a blue in their first jumping show. Ashley Cotton (remember Ashley?) and Phread got a first time blue too! Hannah did her first show with Tucker and came home with some ribbons. Kate took Wally to his first show ever, those new jumps were pretty scary the first round, but Kate gained Wally's trust and confidence to go the second round really nice! They earned ribbons too!

This is Kate and Wally looking good!
Kim and Sirrak had some good scores in the dressage. Cheryl and Chase did better than expected in the dressage too. Donna and Santiago are getting better scores now too. Sallie and Dude also rode a wonderfully solid nice test.

Wilco too!

Wilco was also sold this weekend. He's found another really nice home - he's going to live with Larson, Woody, Lina and Pegasus! The new owner couldn't be more pleased with him and is looking forward to a long relationship with this guy.

Leopold finds a "person"

Our favorite young personality - Leopold - has been sold. Someone feel in love with him and just had to have him. He passed his vet exam today with flying colors and is due to leave Saturday for Wisconsin. Good thing he has all that hair now!

We will miss his engaging face everyday at the barn, but glad to see him go to someone who's so excited about having this nice horse. He's already got new halters and blankets waiting for him!
So say your goodbyes everyone - he accepts lots of carrots, apples and treats!

Richard Howard Clinic

The dressage clinic given by Richard Howard here Saturday and Sunday was well attended. All the riders came away with some good pointers to work on - hopefully remembering what to do when he's NOT here. Horses and riders looked great after the weekend and are looking forward to a return engagement.

Wormers - Cheap!

There is a box in the clubhouse full of wormers for your horse. These came from 3H Equestrian Therapy Center - they were donated to them and are more than they can use. Extras are for sale. They are ivermectrin class wormers, top dress on feed. These wormers go for around $7 in the catalogs - you leave however much $$ you think they are worth and we'll give it to 3H as a donation. Sounds like a reasonable plan? So, find the envelope in the box, donate your dollars, take a wormer(s) and we'll send it on to 3H. There's like 21 of these wormers and probably will have the opportunity to do this every other month or so.
Seems like a good idea for everyone!

2007 Dressage Tests

The dressage tests for 2007 were new. Kim went to the website and printed an order form where you can get a book with all the intro and training level test in it for $5. Save on postage by ordering multiples so was wondering if anyone else might be interested in ordering together. Let Kim know if anyone wants a book and she can take care of ordering them. The actual cost with the discounted shipping will be more like $6 per book.

Samson gets a workout!

Chloe's giving Samson quite a workout! I bet you didn't think he could move, huh?
