A German report...

Long time barn brat, Kate Lydon called today and gave us a report on living in Germany. Most enviable right now is the daytime temperatures are 75 degrees! She's living in a big house with a wonderful view. And she found a barn to ride at. She's had one lesson so far, and had a ball. Rode a horse named Rusty (not very German sounding there!) and ended up doing flying changes.
Hope it continues to go well with Kate in Germany. So far, it's good. Another lesson scheduled for tomorrow, and she's enjoying the riding again.

More Pine Hill

Going to Pine Hill is always a fun trip. It's so much more than a horse show! We get to catch up with friends we haven't seen in a long time...And realize our nice horses always can surprise us. Juliet decided that Archie was completely her one and only... Obviously Archie doesn't see it that way...

And sometimes over hear some great comments. Like the stadium judge saying Kate's stadium ride on Buddy was the NICEST ride she'd seen all day! Isn't that nice to hear!

Pine Hill

This was by far the hottest Pine Hill show ever. And dry! Never have seen it so brown and dusty there. Kate gets the award for being the toughest person, riding two horses in over 100 degree temperatures. And doing a great job.

Super dressage test on Buddy earned her a third in the first phase of competition. They jumped around beautifully in stadium and moved up to first. But it was a fleeting thing as a stop on cross country took them out of the ribbons.
But THIS time, she piloted Buddy thru the water without a problem. And she was within the time allowed so she's on her way to figuring out this whole thing.

Juliet had some tense times - seems she decided Archie was her savior, so when he wasn't close by, she rode very nervously. She basically did her job, placing 5th after dressage. Then the stadium jumping went just fine and she moved up to 4th.Kate rode her around the cross country course with confidence and didn't have any problems. The came home with a 4th place ribbon.

Sarah and Archie were ON at this show. First after a great dressage test. No problems in the stadium jumping and no faults on the cross-country.

They were the STARS - came home with a blue ribbon for the weekend.

Good show everyone!
