Weekend rain

Big rains overnight, Saturday morning dawns with standing water everywhere and the rain is still falling. Over 1 1/2" of rain and still counting!
No lessons today, as the arenas are ankle deep in mud.
No turn out either, as just plain walking around can be tough..

Liberty Hill 2

And more from Liberty Hill, Nov. 20 Taylor took Wavish to her first dressage show. Did quite a good job, with scores in the 60%'s too!

Sydney and Demi showed fine form - great concentration! Notice the deer in the background. Never even saw them. Well done!

Matthew took Aston to his first dressage outing as well. Aston showing some young horse moments, but Matthew did a great job of keeping him on track.

No pictures for the early rides, no one there with a camera that early! Deb and Pam rode before 8 AM! At least the weather was terrific for those early rides. Deb rode Apollo at Second level and achieved a couple goals, good counter canter and great! simple changes.

Pam and Nacho tackled First level and scored well. The best part was that all those things they concentrated on getting better WERE much improved.

Good show for everyone!

Now... all know what to work on for the next time in the spring.

Last Liberty Hill 2011

Sunday was the last show that Liberty Hill hosted for 2011. We had 10 !!!! riders compete from Kinswood Farm. SaraBeth and Buddy put in many hours finally getting an understanding about how to be on the bit. Payoff! With scores in the 60%'s they won all their classes and had a great show.

Samantha took Wally for her first show doing dressage. Did a pretty good job and came out with good ribbons in her 2 classes.

Lauren took Wyland to the show - their first dressage show ever. And only their second show at all. Lookin' good for some ribbons and ready for Pine Hill horse trials for sure.

Eliza rode in her first show. She did a fine job with Tucker, came home with some ribbons and learned alot about how to travel with a horse.

Kate had a few practice rides on Lily and took her to the show. Here they are having a great time on the canter lengthenings! Lily thought the whole show adventure a great time! Fun to get out and do a little something different.

Sarah's weekend

Sarah and Archie travelled to the far reaches of Texas to compete at Texas Rose, a recognized event.

Dressage went well... Staduim, shown here, was terrific. And Cross country was great. They ended in 8th place at the Novice level.

Congrat's!!!!!!!

Rain!

Finally, some decent rains! Rained all morning, so the horses stayed in for the day. About an inch of rain left the arenas muddy and wet, so no riding today either.
