Colonel Russell's show

This weekend was scheduled a show at Col. Russell's... we had quite a few people signed up ready to go.
This show has been cancelled... arenas are underwater!

They would like to reschedule. They haven't set a date yet.. will keep you informed.

Wednesday wet

Horses are going out Wednesday -but once again it's started to drizzle. Be prepared for muddy horses!
Dressage arena will be okay to ride in this evening, if we don't get any real rain, so lessons are still scheduled to go on.

Pictures

Posting a few pictures of the last Liberty Hill show - finally!

Kate and Buddy were right on for the canter work.

Donna and Santiago are looking excellent!

Kate has Juliet moving up and forward on the bit looking great.

Thanks to photographer extraordinaire Shannon!

Rainy Tuesday

Horses are staying in Tuesday - with yesterdays rain and last night's rain and this morning's rain... the grounds are pretty saturated/wet/muddy.
No lessons for Tuesday either, no fun to slosh around in the muck!

Liberty Hill show once again

This is the second of the spring series of shows at Liberty Hill. Everyone is showing improvement! Lisa and Tango came home with 2 firsts and a third. Donna and Santiago came home with 2 seconds and the feeling of "getting it". Kim and Sadie started out the warm up nervous and quick, but in the test things went better. They placed 3rd in their tests. Kate and Buddy did better than ever, with scores proving it. Same too with Sarah and Archie, better scores, better understanding of the process. Juliet was our problem child of the day - she decided she wouldn't load into the trailer. After much hassle, she arrives at the show a full 15 minutes before her start time (thanks to Shannon), so it was a quick groom, tack up, lunge and into the arena she went. Surprisingly she got into the arena and went right to work. The second test went better - of course. Kate did an outstanding job of handling the last minute change of plans and they still came out with placings.

Well done all!

Rain!

Saturday:
Once again, rain on the weekend... Storms passing by early Saturday morning left the grounds puddled, muddy and wet. Horses are staying the barn today - second day in a row, so you horse owners might want to find time inbetween storms to take your horse on a walk.
No lessons, those have to be cancelled as it isn't rideable at all.
Still not sure what's happening with the Liberty Hill show tomorrow. Keep an eye on the website for updated information.

Tomorrow promises to be a nice day, the horses will most likely go out again and normal schedules resumed.
