Liberty Hill

First Liberty Hill schooling dressage show of the season was held Sunday. And of course the weather did NOT play nice - cold, gray and windy windy windy! In between rides we were huddled between the trucks and trailers to get out of the cold wind. Horses were affected by the blustery conditions as well.
Jill took Aria to her first show ever. Just to let her see the commotion and school some. Aria was tense and worried for some time, but she was terrific by the end of the day. A very successful day for Jill.
Kim rode Hank in a couple of intro classes and training level test 1. Improved her scores from the last show and had some good remarks about things she'd been working on. And they took home ribbons as well.
Victoria and Luke attended their first dressage show together. Had a terrific first test. Middle of the second test the wind kicked up some commotion and Luke lost his concentration. Victoria did a fine job of riding Luke thru his terror. Got a bit better by the last test. Ended up with a fist full of red ribbons and reserve championship of her training level division.
Sydney rode Demi in first level to scores in the 60%+. Then hopped on Aston and rode some training level tests. She was pleased with her rides, especially that Aston behaved himself to win a few ribbons!
SaraBeth rode Watson in his first dressage show. They were fantastic! Earned a first and second place with scores in the 60%+. Reserve championship ribbon in the Intro division!
Katie rode in her first ever show. Brought her two horses, Jeripha and Zizi (pictured). Poor Jeripha was so terrified he was shaking for the first hour. Katie did a great job of being kind, slow and easy with him and got him thru his first tests without any problems. Zizi was just the opposite, super quiet and not afraid of anything. Nice rides on her earned some nice scores.

All in all, successful day despite the weather!

First show!

Lauren and Sydneyw made the trek to MeadowCreek Park to participate in a recognized event. Lauren's first go at the big league and Sydney's the first time in over a year.
Lauren did okay in the dressage phase and jumped around clean in the stadium. Sunday was cross country and she rode Wyland like a champ and they ended up in 6th place in Beginner Novice! Well done!
Sydney and Demi also had an okay dressage ride and a clean stadium ride. At Training level they jumped around the cross country course like it was nothing! Came home with 3rd place!
They both had a great time and are ready to do it again!
