Changes

Romeo left yesterday to live away and grow up. His mom, Dawna, returns to stay in the field.
Juliet moves to the field with all the mares too. Time for her to grow up some too! She's a little at awe of the whole thing, so go say 'hi' to her and let her know she's got friends.

The show at Col. Russell's proved to be an education for all. Chloe showed determination and a brave heart when Trigger consistantly refused one fence. But she stuck with it and got him over it in the end and the remaining classes rode much better. She came home with some ribbons. Kate Lydon also rode Trigger in her first show and did a fine job. She impressed us all by watching and learning intently. Hannah jumped around clean with Sunset, as did Jessica. They both entered classes harder than the last show and were pleased the rounds went so well.
Tiffanye and Sundance had a difficult first round, but things went well after that. Diego and Rebecca had the same experience, difficult first round and better after. They won an under saddle class even! That's the way it goes with those green horses.
Diana and Polo won their first jumper class, but had problems after. Dayle also rode Polo in a jumper class and had a beautiful round, only jump a wrong fence! Drat! They also competed in some hunter classes and did a nice showing.
And the costume class was the most fun. So many wonderful costumes it was impossible to decide which was the best. Such imagination!

And last but not least. . .

Chloe and Trigger were just showing the effects of a long day.

Hula horse!

Tiffanye and Sundance were an absolute scream as the Hawaiian representitive.

And Jessica and Sunset as a couple of clowns.

Costumes!!

The costume class at Col. Russell's show oozed imagination and some fantastic costumes. Our own Diana Morgan and Polo won first prize as a Knight.

Say goodbye again

Julie took Bennie home today. It's sad for us to loose Julie on a regular basis, such a smiley happy person, but she's been looking forward to taking her horse home in her "backyard" for quite some time now. She'll be back for lessons, fun and games tho - she's made alot of friends out here!

And more rain...

More rain Tuesday means things are definitely wet and muddy here. Riding's not a good idea in this stuff. But those lessons that agreed to unmounted sessions will happen this week! So come on out, there's still lots to learn.

No dust!

Welcome rain Sunday night left the grounds muddy - we recieved 1 1/2" of rain. It's soaking in fast as the ground is so thirsty. But as of this mornings' writing, there's still water on the dressage arena. And more is predicted on the way tonight.
But the dust in the arenas is gone, yipee.

Changes

People come and go... and we hate to see Ashley leave with Phread. But she plans to return for lessons, shows and just having fun. But we will sorely miss her on a daily basis.
New boarders. Gisele brings in Pegas for boarding with the mares. Pegas retires here. She had a hard time adjusting for the first few days but seems content now.
And Kim gets her first horse, Gunner. Help her out, she's new to the horse ownership thing and wants to know everything. Think she got herself one good horse so she's destined to have a good time with him!
