Indian Creek Show

The show at Indian Creek was a lot of fun for all. Heather and Wally put in some wonderful rounds in the hunter classes to place 4th and 5th in large classes for Heather's first time at a show. Congrat's for that! Cassie and George did their first rounds in the hunter classes also, placing in one. Cassie also braved showing in the dressage equation class and did well. George continues to show his fine attitude at the whole thing. Brittany rode Sirrak and Kate B with Buddy showed in some jumper classes - the jump offs were way fun - and placed well there too. Kate L took Wally in the highest jumper class they both have ever done and jumped around great! Also did a Training Level test and earned a decent score there.
Last but not least, the costume classes at the end of the day were an absolute amazement! Look below for pictures.

The Princess

Gianna stole the show as a princess and her carousel horse..

Mardi Gras

Gabby and Julie's horse, Zany, did up Mardi Gras to perfection...

Hippies

Cassie did up George as a product of the hippy generation.

Purple!

One Eyed, One Horned Flying Purple People Eater!
SaraBeth had Wally doing purple! Catch the horn too, what you can't see is the one eye under the horn. Too funny.

Zebra!!

Brittany painted Sirrak "Racing Stripes!" What a hoot!

Most Scariest Costume

Kate and Tucker won the award for the most scariest costume. The witch rides her fire breathing dragon! Tucker was green and had claws on his front feet.

Liberty Hill show

Liberty Hill dressage show Sunday was a huge success for all the riders from Kinswood Farm! Everyone had scores over 60% and everyone came home with ribbons. Rebecca rode Tucker in 2 tests and came home with ribbons... Brittany and Sirrak improved on their rides and came home with great scores and ribbons. First time show for George and Cassie earned a whopping 70% to win her class. And first time in the show ring was Danielle with Wavish earning nice scores and 3rd place ribbons. Hanna and her Sandy did so well in her division, she won the championship of the Intro division! Karen and Dominic had great scores in the high 60% despite Dominic's bad boy number!

Rain

Can't believe we are happy it's raining, but the dust needed to disappear! This cold front is the first of the season, it's rained over an inch here and wind is blowing hard. Arenas will not be rideable today and the horses are left in for the day.

New bring in person?

We are looking for someone to bring the horses in from the fields in the evenings. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you or someone you know would be interested.. come let us know.

Jim's leaving!

Our favorite singing handyman guy is moving to Yuma. So sad. Friday is his last day, so make sure and say goodbye and good luck to him before he leaves.

Greta Clinic

The clinic given by Greta was a big success. It was full - everyone wanted to ride. Lots of first timers too - so it was a good opportunity to learn something new.

Cary Silvers took his first lesson on Wavish. Looking good!
Heidi brought her Tequila for his first clinic. Was really good at the end.

Jackie had Dante really round in the canter!!! Hurray! Hannah rode Juliet in her first clinic. Juliet was a good student, quiet and accepting the strange things going on.

All in all, everyone was happy with the results of this clinic. We look forward to the next time!

Samson's owie

Samson had minor surgery on his ear yesterday. He had a huge (for him anyway) hematoma on the inside threatening to close up his ear canal. Can't have that. So Dr. Robbins came out yesterday and opened it up so all the blood could drain out. He has 3 stitches in his ear and is in jail. And he is NOT happy about it. Those stalls are great for the horses, but he can't even see out! So, everyone's welcome to go in there and visit him and take him for walks at any time, he will welcome the company.

Weekend happenings

Lots of different things happened this last weekend. Here's a report..
Trisha and her Lady horse went to Greenwood Horse trails, first time at Novice level. And WON! Wow! Trisha prepared with forethought and look at the results. Great. Congratulations! Amy and Nate came in 2nd. Well done.

Samson got the first clip job of the season. He now sports a trace clip - helps keep him cooler in these warm months. All the horses are growing in their winter coats, you've probably noticed. And little Samson's got the wooliest look going. He's more comfortable now.

Couple of clinics dates are coming together. Greta returns October 13-14. If you want to ride with her, contact Karen, she's organizing it all. And Richard Howard comes for a one day shot November 11th. Contact Debra for this one.

Hannah continues to work on Juliet. She's coming along great, you'll see them out of the small arena now, riding around. And Diana is working on Tank. He's being prepared for life as a therapy horse, but the training continues also. So far, both youngsters are doing great.

October's shows are going to be Liberty Hill on the 21st (Sunday) and Indian Creek on the 27th (Saturday). Means Saturday's lessons will be cancelled on the 27th and the school horses probably will be at the show as well. If you would like to ride in the show and need a trailer ride/trainer/lesson horse to use - make arrangements with Julie or Diane pretty quickly. Entries are due soon.
