Indian Creek has been rescheduled for the 29th of November instead of the 8th... gives us a little more time for planning.
Indian Creek school?
We are planning a trip to Indian Creek to school. For $35 a rider we can use the cross-country course, dressage arena and jump arena. Scheduling this Nov. 8 - that's a Sunday. Probably in the afternoon, but will depend on how many people are interested (providing this too doesn't get rained out). Let Diane know if you want to go and we'll start making more specific plans.

Rain again
Monday morning dawns raining like mad! Looks like it's going to continue all day. Horses are staying dry tucked away in the barn for the day, well fed. Don't even think about any riding, unless you like to be cold, wet and swimming.

Oct. 22 - Thursday
Whew! Last night it rained... and rained, and rained and rained. Horses are staying in Thursday and there will be no lessons. Place has a layer of water sitting everywhere!

Liberty Hill show
Liberty Hill October show is the first show of the season NOT rained out! Just Sarah and Kim competed - no one else felt ready as the riding has been rained out as well.
Sarah and Archie did super! Scores at training level in 59%'s.
AND, they won reserve championship for the junior training division!
Kim showed Sadie in her first canter classes. Hoping just that she wouldn't zip out of the arena! Not only did they achieve that - they earned some ribbons and scores in 53% range.
It was a beautiful day (finally!) and the riders did wonderful. Great day!

Danielle's horse
Danielle's horse, Ty, colicked badly Thursday. She spent all day with Dr. Robbins and putting fluids into him via IV drip line - which Danielle manned. But Ty was still feeling pain. So in the evening, they took him to Bandera to the Equine Clinic with Dr. Nightingale. An overnight stay and more fluids and lots of attention and he seems to be okay now.
Turns out he had 2 very large masses in his gut. The size of basketballs! Where does he put it? Those are gone now, and he's to be on a very special diet from now on.
SO GLAD he's pulled thru!

And one more day
One more day of rain. Getting to be expected, sad to say. Horses are in again, no lessons or riding possible. Hopefully this will be the last day of it for awhile. If the weatherman is right. Keep your fingers crossed!

Here we go again
Constant drizzle has left the place soaking wet - again. Horses got out on Sunday, but will have to stay in the barn for Monday.

Fun Visit
Those people of 3 or more years ago will remember Dayle. She came by for a visit yesterday. She's back from her tour in Germany, living in Georgia at the moment. Was in town for a class so she came by to say hi to old friends. It was good to see her! She says 'Hi Deb, sorry I missed you!'.
Guess What?
Rain again Friday. Buckets of it. Horses are staying in and there's no chance of riding today...

More rain Sunday
Oct. 4, Sunday....
It rained last night - more rain than we've seen for a long time. We now have lots of lakes.
Horses are in for the day again, and the arenas are not useable. Heck, even the trails are slippery and not a good idea.

Weekend rain
Once again, the rain comes down on the weekend. Horses are staying in the barn, no lessons. If you are one of those that keep getting rained out of your riding lesson, watch the weather report. Pick a non-rainy day and call your instructor to see if you can schedule a make up lesson. This winter promises to be a wet one, so rescheduling might just become the thing to do.
