Coyote Springs show

The schooling horse trials at Coyote Springs turned out to be a very nice day. Weather was overcast so it was cool and comfortable all day. The place has grown a nice cover of green grass and the jumps decorated in a fall/halloween fun fashion. Lots of fun.
Grace did a passable dressage test. Jumped around stadium nice, with only one knock down and went right out to cross country to jump everything out there without a blip! Grace thinking and riding well thru all her jump phases and Strider was just great. Well done!
Lauren and Wiley had a terrific dressage test, placing first. Jumped the stadium clean, then went out to the cross country and found some problems. The hay jump proved to be lunch time for Wiley, he had to stop and take a bite before walking thru it. The ditch was once again a problem, but she managed to get him over it this time.
Matthew rode Radie at Novice. Excellent jumping rounds in both phases placed them in first!
SaraBeth tried out Buddy at Novice level as well and did a great dressage test. Jumping stadium went well, but Buddy truly had a ditch phobia that day. So she ended up in second. And! ready for Novice at Pine Hill.
Sydney had to quick substitute horses - she had entered Tiffany, but she became lame at the last minute. So Aston was pressed into service. She did a wonderful job in all phases with him and piloted him around to a great go at Beginner Novice.

Also Rosa rode Apollo at Beginner Novice. With trailer troubles, she arrived to late for a decent dressage warm up and just threw herself into it. Not bad! Then went around the jump courses with no problems.

Diana took Topper to school as he hadn't been to a jump show since... April? Nice to say he was jumping around much more confident in the stadium than last time, and cross country too. Just still needs some mileage here. Also schooling was Lauren after her go - to tackle some of the bigger fences (fun!) and lots of work on the ditches. And Kim took Hank to ride around and kind of get a feel for the whole thing.

All in all, a very pleasant day!
