Pine Hill in July

Pine Hill's trip turned out to be a weekend of extremes as far as the competitors went. They either came home with a blue ribbon, or got eliminated! Strange as it was... Taylor rode Wavish to a great finish. Tying for 2nd after dressage, she rode a clean stadium and a clean cross-country (and had a blast) and ended up in first place in the Goldilocks division.

SaraBeth rode Buddy to a good dressage score at Beginner Novice to place 3rd after dressage. Clean stadium round moved her up to 2nd. Started cross country with a great ride, did the hard down hill coop, went right thru the water, only to be off in the woods, galloping down some path and Buddy spooked bad about something in the woods and lost his rider!! SaraBeth walked away okay, but no ribbons now.

Sarah rode Archie in a Novice Combined Test. She schooled cross country Saturday, so was not eligible for the horse trials. Her first time out at Novice level... look at that concentration! Paid off, first place.

Rosa rode Maximus at Beginner Novice. Both of them new at doing horse trials. Dressage test was done without any problems.. but stadium proved to be too scary for Maximus and he stopped at the first jump.

JuanCarlos rode Apollo at Novice, got thru dressage okay. But too many stops at fences in stadium got them eliminated.

Both Rosa and JuanCarlos, and their horses had never been to a show away from home. This was a big step! Once the show was over, we all went out on the cross country course to school and introduce the horses and riders to the various different kinds of fences. We managed to fix the problems from the stadium rounds and they schooled without stops! Confidence was built.

Ready for the next one!
